JOLLY PHONICS
Jolly Phonics is a multi-sensory Synthetic Phonics programme that makes learning to read and write effective and fun for all children.
Course outline:
This 3/4 hour Webinar or Face-to-face training course provides advice for teachers and the right way to work on in their first year of Jolly Phonics. It explains the principles of synthetic phonics so that the understanding of the teaching and the ability to help a child is greatly enhanced. It is a step-by-step course on how to apply the programme and get children to read fluently, clearly and with good pronunciation getting the most out of it.
The course consists of synchr/4 onous and asynchronous sessions. The asynchronous modules will provide reading material, trainer's notes, video tutorials, and links to Phonics websites and resources.

Principles of Synthetic Phonics
Concepts of the English Alphabetic Code: from simple to complex code.
The Spanish alphabetic code versus the English alphabetic code.
The 5 skills:
Letters and their sounds
Learning to trace and write each letter sound.
Blending: joining the sounds together in words for reading.
Segmenting for writing: identifying sounds in words
Tricky words (words with complex spellings not yet seen but frequently used)
How to use Jolly Phonics / Jolly Classroom.
The Phonics Lesson: Sequence and steps.

JOLLY ENGLISH
Jolly English is an English-language
comprehensive course that enables teachers to embed essential English vocabulary in their students and develop children’s awareness of the sounds of the English Language. Vocabulary is introduced gradually and the introduction of phonics concepts is systematic, laying the foundations for the Jolly Phonics programme.
It introduces vocabulary and sounds in the same order as the Jolly Phonics programme, so it can be used either before or alongside Jolly Phonics.
